Provincial Caravans are dedicated to luxury caravans at affordable prices. Let’s take a closer look at their family RV, the Estate.

We take a look at the Aussie-made ‘Estate’ by Provincial Caravans, perfect for families wanting to explore Australia in comfort.

There’s no shame in admitting that you don’t want to ‘do’ Australia unless it’s in comfort. Judging by the number of luxury caravans that flew off the lot during the Covid international border closures, most of us feel the same way.

Not all luxury caravans are made equal though, so when we came across a company that ticks all the right boxes in Provincial Caravans, it was a bit exciting. By all the right boxes, I mean:

  • 100% Australian made
  • Quality that you can ‘feel’ (once you step inside one, you’ll know exactly what I mean)
  • Engineered to handle Australia’s harsh conditions
  • Not too overpriced for a luxury offering

Provincial Caravans are dedicated to delivering luxury caravan living at affordable prices without compromising quality. With three different vans to choose from – Estate, Liberty and Senator – travellers can add their own personal touch when ordering. Modern features such as timber-look benchtops, black sink and ensuite basin all come as standard options but this, of course, can be customised to your style. From benchtops, cabinetry, upholstery, external cladding, splashbacks and more, it’s kind of like decking out your very own up-market apartment on wheels.

Let’s take a closer look at Provincial Caravan’s family offering, the Estate.

The Estate

With bunks up one end and privacy for parents up the other, the Estate is a top choice for families. Sleeping up to six, this 22 ft, dual-axle, off-road caravan boasts an impressive list of standard features.

Living quarters and kitchen

The main bedroom has a queen island bed with gas struts for storage underneath, bedside tables, robes and a roof hatch with a handy fan & rain sensor. Up the other, you have a choice of two or three bunks with robes.

When it comes to the living area, a choice of a straight or L-shaped leather-look lounge with a table can also convert to an extra bed. The kitchen allows for uncluttered living with plenty of storage. Likewise, meals are sorted with a 188L Dometic fridge/freezer, 3-gas and 1-electric burner oven, grill and stovetop, microwave and sink.

The bathroom

Moving along to the bathroom, it’s hard not to be impressed by the design. The swivel toilet and vanity basin are separate from the shower and despite pretty decent storage, they’ve even managed to squeeze a wall-mounted washing machine in there.

For when the kids are too dirty to even come inside, there’s an external shower.

Storage and entertainment

Storage is great inside, and outside storage is no different with a full front tunnel boot, jerry can holders and a storage hatch. There’s even a toolbox large enough to accommodate a family-sized Weber on one side and a generator on the other. When you want to kick back and relax inside with the Dometic reverse cycle air-con on,  enjoy a 24” Smart TV, DVD stereo, RV WiFi and speakers. Alternatively, when the weather is great, make use of the external entertainment hatch and speakers.

Powering it all

600W of solar power and 2 x 120Ah lithium batteries keep things humming along smoothly and you can keep track of it all via a BMPRO Battery Management System with the latest Trek monitor. There are enough USB and 240V ports around to keep everyone happy on their devices. LED lights abound.

For those wanting more juice, there is an option to upgrade to 2 x 200Ah lithium batteries.

Chassis and construction

The chassis is sturdy – 4” SupaGal box steel – with a 6” A-frame, D035 tow hitch and independent trailing arm coil spring suspension with twin shocks. Two spare wheels complete the package. The frame is constructed with Meranti timber with insulation to walls and roof and it’s finished off with aluminium composite, lightweight thermoplastic reinforced plywood, lightweight plywood flooring and a premium one-piece vinyl flooring covering.
