X Series RV has a new owner after liquidation
Austrack Campers has acquired X Series RV, Phoenix RV and Sunland following the group's liquidation. Here's what it means for the brands and customers.

Austrack Campers has acquired X Series RV, along with the Phoenix RV and Sunland caravan brands, following the collapse of the Melbourne-based RV group earlier this year.
The acquisition gives X Series RV a new future under Queensland-based Austrack Campers, which says it plans to continue developing the off-road camper and caravan brand.
It also brings some hope for customers who were left with outstanding orders when the former X Series RV business entered administration, although Austrack has stressed that individual outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
What happened to X Series RV and Sunland?
Sunland RV Pty Ltd, X Series RV Pty Ltd and Global RV Corp Pty Ltd entered voluntary administration on June 25, 2026, with Brent Morgan and Shane Cremin of Rodgers Reidy appointed as administrators. The group operated the Sunland, Phoenix and X Series brands.
At the time, Rodgers Reidy said administrators were reviewing the companies’ finances, operations, customer orders, inventory and manufacturing capability while looking at potential restructuring or sale opportunities. The administrators subsequently called for expressions of interest for the businesses and assets, describing the operation as a Melbourne-based caravan manufacturing group encompassing X Series, Sunland and Phoenix.
The companies were ultimately wound up on July 31 before Austrack acquired the brands and associated assets.
What has Austrack Campers acquired?
Austrack announced the acquisition on August 21, saying it would secure the future of the X Series range. According to Austrack, the company plans to continue developing X Series RV, combining the existing range with its own experience in off-road campers and caravans, product development and customer support.
“This is about more than purchasing a business. It’s about protecting a brand that Australians genuinely love and giving customers confidence that it’s in safe hands,” Austrack Campers owner Linden Lawson said.
“We’ve spent two decades building a reputation for quality, innovation and standing behind our customers. X Series RV now has that same foundation.”
Austrack has since confirmed to CaravanCampingSales that the acquisition includes the intellectual property, brand rights, dealer network and physical assets associated with the businesses. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean all three brands will continue as they did previously. Austrack told CaravanCampingSales it plans to continue with X Series and Phoenix RV, but said: “We will not be continuing to build Sunland caravans at this time.”
What about customers with outstanding orders?
The biggest question surrounding the acquisition is what it means for customers caught up in the failure of the previous businesses. When the companies entered administration in June, Rodgers Reidy specifically acknowledged customers who had paid deposits or other amounts towards caravan purchases and asked them to contact the administrators.
Austrack says it is now working with receivers and other stakeholders in an effort to assist affected customers and, where circumstances allow, help them receive their campers.
“We know how much these adventures mean to people,” Lawson said. “While every situation is unique and we can’t guarantee an outcome for everyone, we’re committed to making every genuine effort to help as many people as we possibly can.”

What next?
X Series RV launched in 2024 with a range spanning compact pod campers and hybrids through to caravans, toy haulers and motorhomes. Austrack says it will continue developing the X Series platform, backed by its national showroom and service network.
“Customers can expect the next generation of X Series RV campers to be stronger, smarter and better equipped than ever before,” the company said, but given that it’s early days, have not yet detailed what changes will be made to individual X Series models or when the next generation will arrive.
The acquisition comes during a difficult period for Australia’s caravan industry, with a number of manufacturers and RV businesses entering administration or liquidation during 2025/2026. For the relatively young X Series RV brand, however, the deal means it has a path forward under new ownership.
As Austrack put it in announcing the acquisition: “The X Series isn’t coming back. It’s moving forward.”
