According to the recall notice, the Dometic 2 Door 188L Absorption Refrigerator, Model number RUA6408X and the Dometic 2 Door 224 L Absorption Refrigerator, Model number RUA8408X were sold nationally to numerous brands of caravans and motorhomes between 1 July 2018 – 31 December 2020.
The serial numbers of the affected fridges fall into the following ranges:
MB 82200938 to MB 85100130
MB 90200892 to MB 95200685
MB 00100565 to MB 03701182
The model and serial number appear on the Ratings Label located within the refrigerator on the left wall.
The defect is in the small wiring loom which may overheat and char when the product is running on 12V DC. If the overheating/charring occurs, there is a risk of fire which may result in serious injury.

The recall is the latest in a string affecting the caravan and camping industry including one announced for 149 Adria Coral Motorhomes sold between 1 January 2014 – 12 November 2020 over concerns the gas oven may not have been secured properly.
