Adventure Kings drops hands-free digital air compressor

Is there anything Adventure Kings can’t do? Australia’s best-loved budget camping brand makes batteries, swags, generators, rooftop tents and more… Now Kings has unveiled an updated Thumper Max Digital Air Compressor that delivers the same fancy features as the expensive brands, without the stiff price tag.

The Thumper has gone high tech – with hands-free operation and a snazzy digital display, so you can shelter in the shade while this smart compressor does the heavy lifting for you. Simply attach the alligator clips to your 12V starter (or auxiliary) battery, connect the inflation hose, punch in your desired pressure on the LED display – and the Thumper takes care of the rest. It automatically switches off when you reach the desired pressure, with an accuracy of +/-2psi. No more crouching in the dirt, squinting over an analogue needle.

What you get is 300L of airflow a minute for super-quick inflation to a maximum 150psi. That will get the average tyre from 18 to 38 psi in just over a minute. At that rate, your car and caravan/camper trailer tyres could be bitumen-ready in less than 10 minutes. Winning.

Multiple applications

The Thumper comes with a 7.75m quick-connect hose, which should be ample for small trailers. If you have a large rig, a 4m extension hose is available for extra cost, giving you a total reach of almost 12 metres. The unit also comes with a tyre chuck fitting and air needle pins, so you can pump up all manner of tyres – BMX, motorbike – and kiddie paraphernalia, like sports balls and beach toys. Because that inflatable flamingo isn’t going to blow itself up.

This is a set-and-forget air compressor that takes the chore out of airing back up after a week camping on the beach or out bush. And if your rig has eight tyres, speed is everything.
