At six metres long, the Akuna A2M-E is TRAKKA’s most compact van-based motorhome to date. Set on a Volkswagen Crafter mid-wheel base, this all-wheel-drive sleeps two comfortably. Goodbye bitumen, hello adventure!

Although this off road motorhome is compact, travellers will still enjoy a permanent standing height inside. Combine this with a lounge/bedroom, a bathroom and a dedicated sitting area, and you’ve got yourself a comfortable adventure wagon. There is ample capacity provided for fresh and grey water with 140L and 80L tanks respectively.

The Akuna A2M-E  features a 2L 130kW turbo diesel engine with 410Nm of Torque and 8-speed automatic transmission. The standard payload is 505kg on a 3045kg tare. However, there is an option that will see you take home a whopping 722kg payload on a 3880kg tare.

A new TRAKKA Akuna A2M-E off road motorhome will set you back around $161,144 drive-away.

Suncamper Sherwood 4X4 Conqueror

Suncamper says that if you want the ultimate in off-road motorhomes, then look no further than the Sherwood Conqueror. It sounds a bit braggy but there really is no denying that this is a great offroad motorhome.

Based on the ever-reliable Toyota Hilux chassis and engine, this off road motorhome is designed to go further and stay longer.  The 450 watts of solar on the roof, lithium battery and 2000W inverter will certainly help with this. Increased GVM, chassis strength, power and water capacity are all great features. The Sherwood Conquerer is an off road ready motorhome with a long-range fuel tank of 140L, snorkel, bull bar, bash plates, LED bar lights, mud terrain tyres, roof racks and more.

Inside you’ll find a toilet, club lounge, leather upholstery, a queen bed, a dinette that converts to a second bed, a kitchen area with plumbed water and large panoramic windows.

Priced at around $194,990, the Hilux chassis and Conquerer make for an impressive pairing.

Earthcruiser Escape

Based on the Mercedes-Benz G Professional 4X4 cab chassis, the Earthcruiser Escape off road motorhome boasts comfortable features inside. This includes air-conditioning, shower/toilet, diesel-fuelled cooker and a double bed. You’ll also find luxury touches such as leather upholstered seats, a powered pop top and a 22L upright side-by-side fridge/freezer.

The Earthcruiser Escape runs a diesel V6 with 135Kw of power and 400N of Torque. The transmission is a 5-speed auto. It comes standard with 80L of water but an additional 160L is available. 540 watts of roof solar panels help you stay off the road for longer in your motorhome as does the lithium 500amp battery and 3000w inverter/charger.

An Earthcruiser Escape will set you back over $200,000.

AAV 4X4 Global Xplorer

The Global Xplorer is a true 4X4 light truck with high and low transmission and is based on the reliable 4X4 Fuso Canter or Isuzu NPS. Designed to be capable both on and off road, this expedition-style off road motorhome has some impressive features.

450W of solar panels will keep you off road for longer and luxury features are not forgotten. Enjoy a full-height bathroom, diesel hot water, toilet and the option to add airconditioning.

The Fuso has a GVM of 6,000kg however with the module, 200L of water and 200L of fuel (yes, it carries that much), the Global Explorer weighs in at only 4,600kg. If that wasn’t enough, the 3.5-tonne towing capacity means you can bring your other toys along on an off road motorhome adventure.

An AAV 4X4 Global Explorer starts at  $231,115.
