We shine a spotlight on Cool Beans Campers, an Aussie camper manufacturer building teardrop campers with love, care and a bit of flair.

There’s something incredibly appealing and nostalgic about a teardrop camper and when you combine that with retro styling, a quality build and the ability to choose your own ‘flavour’, then you’ve got yourself a winner.

Cool Beans Campers certainly appear to tick all of these boxes plus a little more. You’ll also find peace of mind in the fact that even the chassis is not imported and is fully welded right here on Aussie soil in Western Australia.

These campers provide a no pop-up, no fuss, no worries experience for their owners and damn do they look good. Check out Cool Beans Campers here:

See, I told you they look good!  Here’s the low down on what you’ll get with Cool Beans Campers:

External features of Cool Beans Campers

Built with quality marine-grade materials and an Aussie-made chassis, customers can choose their own ‘flavour’ from a wide range of colours. Being a smaller manufacturer, Cool Beans Campers are made to suit the customer’s requirements.

The custom D-shaped retro doors not only look good but they’re actually fitted with double dust and weather seals. Anyone who has headed outback with a camper will know how important this is. That red dirt gets into everything if you let it and the best way to avoid it, is to ensure it’s not welcome in your camper in the first place.

The tinted glass porthole windows found on both sides of the camper are next-level retro and really set Cool Beans Campers apart from other camper designs.

  • Full ali/timber top and side construction

What you’ll find inside Cool Beans Campers

Like most traditional teardrop campers, Cool Beans features a kitchen at the rear of the camper. This design, of course, allows for more room inside. Enjoy a full-sized queen bed with a padded headrest fitted out with an overhead shelf. You’ll even find a personal reading light in there.

At the foot end of the bed, you’ll find three large storage cupboards and three large drawers, allowing you to pack your clothes and other belongings away neatly. I don’t know about you, but there are few things more satisfying in a camper than well-thought-out storage solutions.

Kitchen

All Cool Beans Campers boast a well-designed kitchen with a lockable air and dust-sealed bonnet. Serviced by a fully welded 48L freshwater tank and a 48L greywater tank, you’ll be able to cook meals just like you do at home with the two-burner stove, stainless steel sink and tap, and 1500mm kitchen bench. The 60L Engel fridge/freezer is easily accessed via a heavy-duty slide.

Storage in the kitchen area is ample with three cupboards above the bench, two deep storage drawers and one shallow under-sink draw. This is all lit up by two overhead downlights and a full-length LED light strip to the bench.

Find twin USB charging points and a 12V power outlet in the kitchen for your convenience.

Powering up the camper

Cool Beans Campers utilise a custom ITECH Start Lithium Power system. Providing better longevity than an acid-lead battery system, the battery itself weighs in at only 12kg. These batteries utilise a state-of-the-art Battery Management System (BMS) that allows you to charge from existing AC chargers, DCDC chargers and solar systems.

Cost

A Cool Beans Camper will set you back around $41,800 drive-away for an on-road model and $45,100 for an off-road model.  The offroad model features the same as the on-road model plus:

  • Fully welded heavy-duty chassis with brake/handbrake
  • Heavy-duty off-road leaf spring suspension
  • Heavy-duty full-length stone guard/step
  • Rhino Roof Racks
  • All-Terrain tyres and mags

For those of you who would like to learn more, Cool Beans Campers offer a very interactive Face-Time viewing of the workshop and process of the build.
