Do you have a Swift gas cooker in your caravan? Then you need to read this vital information!

The ACCC has issued a safety recall on the 500 Series Cooker/Grill and Cooktops supplied by Casale Trim Co Pty Ltd t/as Swift Group

What is the potential problem?

A part of the gas supply pipe may develop a hole or break, thus causing a gas leak. Gas leaks are always potentially bad news and this defect has caused incidents resulting in serious injuries and burns.

If gas leaks in the presence of an ignition source, this could lead to an explosion or a fire. If it leaks and builds up in an enclosed area (such as your caravan or motorhome), asphyxiation may occur.

See, I told you gas leaks were always bad news!

How do I know if my model is affected?

It’s best you check your cooktop right away to see if your particular model is affected. To identify your model, open the glass lid and you will find the model number on the data plate which is located on the inside front of the lid on the left side.
