Bushman launches heavy-duty fridge range with Australia’s first 7-year compressor warranty

Australian-owned Bushman Fridges has unveiled what it describes as the biggest product development in the company’s 40-year history, launching a new heavy-duty fridge series featuring what it says is Australia’s first seven-year 12V compressor warranty.
The upgrade applies across the entire Bushman range, from compact 15-litre portable units through to 225-litre fridge models aimed at caravans, camper trailers and touring vehicles.
According to Bushman Director Tom Stockdale, the new heavy-duty (HD) series is the result of extensive research and development informed by decades of customer feedback and real-world use.
“This is the biggest product development Bushman has released in the last 40 years,” said Stockdale.
“After extensive research and development, and in response to decades of customer usage on the road, all Bushman’s award-winning portable fridges have been upgraded for even better long-term performance and reliability.”
The headline upgrade is a new heavy-duty compressor developed by refrigeration manufacturer Secop Danfoss specifically for demanding applications.
Bushman says every fridge model up to 130 litres now uses a next-generation heavy-duty compressor originally designed for the trucking industry, with the goal of improving durability when subjected to prolonged vibration on rough roads.
For caravan owners and remote-area travellers, vibration resistance can be a major factor in long-term fridge reliability, particularly on corrugated outback tracks where refrigeration systems are often subjected to constant punishment.

Bushman is also backing the new range with what it claims is the longest compressor warranty currently available on a 12V fridge in Australia.
The company says every fridge in the HD range now comes standard with a seven-year compressor warranty, providing additional peace of mind for travellers who spend extended periods on the road.
The HD series introduces a number of other changes designed to improve durability, cooling performance and installation flexibility.
Among the upgrades are double powder-coated heat exchangers for improved rust resistance, stronger construction using threaded bolts and nut inserts in place of traditional sheet metal screw points, and redesigned mounting systems for easier installation.
Bushman has also added internal cooling fans to upright fridge models from 85 litres upwards, which the company says will help provide more even cooling while travelling.
The updated range has also received styling revisions, with a cleaner and more streamlined exterior design.
The launch comes as Bushman celebrates another strong showing in consumer ratings, with the company claiming the title of Australia’s Best Portable Fridge 2026 through Product Review for the tenth consecutive year.
Bushman also says it secured Product Review’s Australia’s Best Caravan Fridge award for the sixth straight year.

The new heavy-duty upgrades have been rolled out across the entire Bushman range, covering models from 15 litres through to 225 litres. They are available now through Bushman and its dealer network, with pricing starting at $899.
While many 12V fridges already use proven compressor technology, Bushman’s focus on vibration resistance, installation flexibility and warranty coverage will likely appeal to caravan owners and long-distance tourers looking for equipment designed to withstand years of rough-road travel.
With more Australians embracing extended caravanning adventures and remote-area touring, reliability remains one of the most important factors when choosing a fridge. Bushman is clearly betting that stronger components and a class-leading warranty will help set its latest range apart in an increasingly competitive market.
