Let’s Go Caravan & Camping.

After tolerating some wet and wild weather in the south, the Blackmores decided to take a side trip to a place you can always count on for sunshine – the red centre! Now, this side trip would take four long days of road travel, but the search for sunshine is real when you’re caravan-bound in bad weather for weeks with two young kids.

So how did they cope with the huge daily kilometres? Excellently! The kids were legend road trippers and the long days of driving were worth it for everyone. The sun was shining brightly as they checked into the Ayers Rock Resort caravan park and spring was in full bloom. The landscape was covered in stunning red, purple, white and yellow flowers.

The Blackmores spent their sunny days exploring both Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), with the walk around the base of Uluru a highlight. Col gave Evie her first camera and she took to photography like a duck to water, taking her camera everywhere.

On their red centre side trip, the Blackmores made friends with another travelling family and enjoyed story swapping and playtime. Claire said, “It never ceases to amaze us – the great people we’ve met on our travels and how embracing the caravan and camping community is”.
