Dex Fulton takes a look at the new REDARC Total Vehicle Management System, the TVMS REDARC Rogue and why it’ll change the way you camp.
If you’re like most folks, you’ve likely spent considerable money on your RV’s 12V set-up. Lithiums on their own are pricey (but so, so worth it), then you’ve got the battery management systems, chargers, cabling, and switches – and that’s not even counting the accessories the batteries are running.
There’s no getting around it. A solid 12V arrangement is worth its weight in gold, but they can routinely nudge the ten-grand mark (or more) for a comprehensive system.
Not only that, the last thing you want is the dreaded rat’s nest of wiring running all over the shop, creating potential shorting points (which can lead to fire) and a general sense of chaos with mismatched cabling, terminals and connectors.
Which is why it makes complete sense to have a high-quality, reliable and customisable control module that not only takes a heap of guesswork out of getting everything dialled in but will probably save you time and money on installation costs – not to mention be the much safer option.
Introducing the REDARC TVMS Rogue
You’ve already heard of Aussie 12V gurus REDARC. They’ve been busy in their white coats in the laboratory, getting their Tony Stark on and cooking up what they call “an unprecedented level of automation and control” for your RV. At least, that’s how we like to imagine it happened. They’re a sciencey bunch.
The result, however, is nothing short of magic. The new REDARC TVMS (Total Vehicle Management System) Rogue is a control module that picks up after their previously released TVMS Prime unit, but they’ve made it sleeker, sexier and versatilier (pretty sure that’s not a word, but you get what we mean).
The REDARC Rogue, which is only a svelte 25mm thick, has a total of 10 dimmable output channels and eight inputs to use with physical switches. This means you can run just about anything you can think of from the one location – lights, tank pumps, electric awnings, you name it. Given there are smart fuses and it’s all fully programmable, it makes fault finding a much easier task, and you can tailor your system to suit you perfectly.

Stepping up with the RedVision Kit
If you’re wanting to bump things up a notch, the REDARC TVMS Rogue is available in kit form with the RedVision monitor – that’s your fridge, lighting and water pumps all taken care of from one central control panel. This gives you an unheard-of amount of flexibility. You can turn everything except your fridge off with one press of a button. Or you could individually switch lights in different areas of your RV. You can even incorporate reed switches that will allow you to turn lights on and off by opening and closing doors – the future is now folks.
Not only that, but you can also monitor a pair of water tanks, power down non-essential current-draw items when your batteries are getting low – if it runs off 12V, chances are the REDARC Rogue can automate it and give you total control over its functionality. It even has temperature information available to you – essential for those far north or inland trips to the more remote areas of the continent.
App-ly yourself
Forget Candy Crush. Tik-Tok? Never heard of her. Your new favourite icon on your phone (or at least the most useful) will be the RedVision app. This allows you to control your entire system directly from your touchscreen.
Picture this: you’re sitting in your camp chair. You’ve lost track of time while staring into the fire and night has well and truly fallen. Your RV is darker than a frontline soldier’s sense of humour and you’ve left your headtorch inside. You pick up your phone, open the Redvision App and a couple of clicks later your lights are on, the electric blanket is warming up your bed and you have to stop and consider the fact that life may not get any better than this moment right now.
Having that sort of versatility from your 12V gear really will change how you camp. Remember those James Bond movies where he drives his car using only his wristwatch? Yeah well, we’re pretty sure he stole the technology from REDARC.
