Out with the old, in with the… slightly less old… Ted and Rosie Dekker have recently added a new-to-them Prado to their touring collection, complete with their Evernew caravan in tow. Replacing their faithful Troopy, Elly with their new Prado, lil Elly, with only 160,000km on the clock, they have gotten straight into the modifications of both the Prado and the van before heading off as Nomads.
The Prado packs a Rhino boat roller roof rack and a beautiful set of drawers complete with fridge slide in the back from OffRoad Systems. Cargo barrier and dual-battery system are good to go, capped off with a Warn winch on the ARB bullbar. IPF driving lights have been added as well as an 80-channel CB radio (with a new antenna), diff breathers, ARB dust caps, Engine Data Scan vehicle computer and a set of black Clearview Mirrors. Next on the mods list is darker window tint and the final touch is the lil Elly decals that will be fitted to the rear side windows and front stone chip guard. Don’t forget the custom number plates you can see on the old girl in the photo ‘ATOYTO’ which have been placed on the Prado and Rosie think is fitting, A TOY TO getaway and escape in.
