Over the years, the Archibald Prize has been awarded to many of Australia’s most prominent artists. The Geelong Gallery is the exclusive Victorian venue for the Archibald Prize 2017. First awarded in 1921, the Art Gallery of New South Wales’ Archibald Prize is Australia’s most prestigious art award.
Awarded to the best portrait painting, it is a who’s who of Australian culture, with subjects often including politicians, celebrities, sporting heroes, authors and artists. Since its inception, the Archibald Prize has been engaging art enthusiasts, often stirring up controversy and always challenging the way we see ourselves and our society.

This year’s Northern Inland Expo is set to be the biggest and best yet, with twice as many exhibitors, and double the entertainment. Come along and start filling your Christmas stockings with the latest in leisure products, caravans, camper-trailers, motorhomes, boats, 4X4 vehicles and accessories, as well as fishing, hunting and camping gear. You can expect to see Cookie from Yamaha Supertank there again too.
If the idea of being one of the first to see new products excites you, then you probably won’t want to miss the Bendigo Leisurefest, where you’ll get to see the latest (and best) in caravans, tents, camper-trailers, motorhomes, campervans, 4X4 off-road accessories and more. You will also find tourism information to help you map out your next trip. Fishing enthusiasts will love the Australian travelling fish show, Supertank, where experts demonstrate the different types of lures and how the fish to respond to them. Don’t forget to bring the kids along too – there’ll be a Caravanning Explorers’ Club, where they can get a free showbag and enjoy free rides and activities.
