Windsor RVs has introduced a new iteration of its well-known Windsor Rapid. This new hybrid caravan retains the compact, expandable design that made the original Windsor Rapid popular but now comes with off-road capabilities and features designed for extended travel.
Windsor Rapid model line-up
The new Windsor Rapid is available in three configurations, all of which feature a moulded one-piece ensuite with a shower and Dometic cassette toilet:
- Rapid 13: A 13-foot model suited for two people, featuring a king-size bed.
- Rapid 15D: A 15-foot option suited for three people. It features a king-size bed and a dinette that converts to an extra single bed.
- Rapid 15B: A 15-foot model designed for two adults and two children. This model offers a king-sized bed and a set of bunks.
Design and construction
The Windsor Rapid has been built with durability in mind. A hot-dipped galvanised chassis with underbody Raptor coating provides additional protection, while 16-inch mud-terrain tyres, independent coil suspension with twin shock absorbers, and a Cruisemaster DO35 hitch are included to improve towing performance on uneven ground.
The exterior features a full-width storage compartment on the Rapid 13 and 15B. You’ll also find a large fridge slide and multiple tie-down points. The colour scheme is designed to blend with natural landscapes, with orange drop bar accents referencing Windsor’s production facility in Brisbane.
Setup and interior features
One key aspect of the Windsor Rapid remains its expandable living space, which sets up in under ten minutes. The design prioritises compact towing dimensions while still providing a functional interior.
Inside, the layout includes:
- A kitchenette with a separate dinette (15D model only)
- A combined shower and toilet
- Air conditioning and diesel heating
- Storage solutions integrated throughout the space
Off-grid capabilities
The new Windsor Rapid has been designed for off-grid travel, incorporating:
- Up to six 100W solar panels (five on the Rapid 13)
- Two 135Ah lithium batteries
- A 2000W inverter
- 240 litres of freshwater capacity
The power system is managed through a Renogy battery management system, supporting extended stays in remote areas.
Pricing and availability
Pricing starts at $59,995 for the Rapid 13, with the Rapid 15D and 15B priced from $64,995.
