Meet the Bruder, a van so robust it can cope with any climate, from the outback to the Arctic. But the military look doesn’t take away from the fact that this van is also built for luxury.
One splattering of khaki paint and this robust machine could be heading out into a war zone. One look at the interior, however, and you realise that the Bruder EXP-6 isn’t kitted out for a foot soldier, more The General. This machine is his refuge, perhaps going some way to explaining why builders and owners Dan and Toby Bosschieter have been inspired to start work on a bullet-proof version. There’s clearly no mistaking the military feel.
Bruder told us that the EXP-6 has been tailored to meet international compliance and meets the needs of military and commercial requirements. Your regular traveller might delight in the option of having the extra capability, but what does the Bruder offer in more general terms?
Manufactured in a new Brisbane factory, the $105,500-plus, hybrid camper features a Four Corner Independent Air Suspension system; comes in at 6700mm long and is 1920mm wide with a tare of 1680kg. The interior design allows for both couples and families with sleeping for up to six available, storage areas and an electronically-controlled 3.5m awning. Pictures of the Bruder show a contraption which can hold three wine bottles in place. They were installed at the General’s request, apparently.
