It seems that QLD caravans packed on a few kilos over winter, with quite a few tipping the scales into ‘obese’. At a recent free weigh-in at Logan, Brisbane, it was found that between 43-49 per cent of caravan owners were over their legal limit in some form.
Although the experts say it, you don’t need to be an expert to know that size matters when it comes to caravans. An overweight caravan takes longer to slow up and increases the chance of trailer away, which can be catastrophic.
And if that didn’t convince you to shed the caravan kilos, maybe a fine of up to $1,000 or an insurance policy that refuses to pay up might.
So now that summer is nearly here, it’s time to lose those few extra kilos. Take the time to get it right and stay safe these holidays!
