Newcastle’s Caravan Camping Lifestyle Expo is here!

If you’re looking to plan your next getaway, the Newcastle Caravan Camping Holiday Expo is the perfect place to check out this weekend! You don’t want to miss these upcoming three big days where you’ll have the opportunity to experience the latest in caravans, motorhomes, campervans, camper trailers, tents and camping equipment, accessories and holiday parks.

Dates and times

Located at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre and Showground, the expo is running from Friday the 4th of February to Sunday the 6th of February. With a start time of 9 am and close time of 5 pm on Friday and Saturday (4 pm close on Sunday), you’ll have plenty of hours to scour the area and find all you need to get you on the road and on the way to your next adventure.

What’s on?

For those that like to compare and research all the aspects of the camping and caravan industry, you’ll have the exclusive chance to speak to all of the expert exhibitors who are on hand for all of your questions and queries. The venue has a heap of outdoor displays as well as two huge indoor pavilions – so give yourself enough time to thoroughly check it all out and leave no stone unturned. To make the day a little easier for yourself, you can preemptively download the map showing the outdoor site plan, entertainment centre and exhibition centre. With hundreds of brands and thousands of products on display, planning ahead is key to see all that you’d like with the exhibitors list, listing each exhibitor and brand as well as their site number and location.

Transport and parking

There will be free parking options for all that attend, both at the venue and surrounding areas, as well as PCYC Newcastle. If you’d rather take public transport you can hop on the bus or train. Buses operate every half an hour during the Expo and the Broadmeadow train station is a mere four-minute walk from the Newcastle Entertainment Centre and Showground.

Bring the family!

It’s an event the entire family can enjoy with inflatable fun for the kids including jumping castles, a giant inflatable slide and the toddler inflatable obstacle course. You can even bring your furry friends along for the day, with dogs being allowed in provided they are leashed at all times. You don’t even have to leave to find some lunch! When you get peckish, head over to the on-site food and beverage outlets.

Don’t miss these special events

A special event chat with Pat Callinan is not to be missed with two opportunities to come along at 10:30 am until 11 am on both Friday and Saturday. You’ll be able to hear all about Pat’s latest 4×4 and RV adventures, as well as ask him questions to plan your next exciting getaway.

You’ll also be able to get up close and personal with some reptiles at John’s Reptile Awareness show, where he will teach you some interesting facts about Australia’s native snakes and lizards!

Safety

As with all things during the pandemic, things look a little different this year at the Expo to ensure there’s a COVID-safe plan. Below are several points to be aware of.

  • First and foremost, do not attend if you’re feeling unwell or if you’re a close contact of someone with COVID.
  • If you’re well and ready for the event then make sure you’ve purchased your ticket online and in advance.
  • When you arrive at the Expo you’ll need your e-ticket ready for scanning and you’ll be required to check in via the Service NSW application.
  • Regular cleaning is to take place across the venue and you’ll have access to hand sanitiser at every entry gate and at multiple locations throughout the venue.
  • In addition to wearing your mask inside, it’s also a great idea to wear one while you’re outdoors.

Prices

Tickets range from $16 for adults (aged 17 years and over) and $12 for those applicable for concession. Children (under 16 and under) are able to enter for free when accompanied by an adult. Make sure to grab your ticket here!
