Earlier this year, Cub followed this up by unveiling the L16, a lighter and more budget-friendly option closely related to the C16’s success. The L16 embraced many of the traits that endeared the C16 to enthusiasts and swiftly carved its own path to triumph. Thus, the foundation was laid for Cub’s burgeoning luxury hybrid caravan lineup.
And now, Cub Campers have done it again with their latest revelation – the H16. Tailored for expeditions, it aims to offer exceptional comfort on both rugged terrains and smooth asphalt. With its lithe profile, families can partake in the caravan lifestyle without the need for a pricey towing vehicle.
What to expect from the H16
Boasting a suite of ingenious features, the H16’s electric pop-top roof elevates effortlessly from a low profile of 2.45m to a maximum height of 2.91m. Reinforced by four robust spring cross canopy lifters at strategic junctures, this mechanism can support up to 160kg, synchronized by a precision control board for seamless functionality.
The H16’s engineering team, spearheaded by Cub’s visionary Managing Director and owner, Shane Fagan, has toiled diligently to forge a pop-top masterpiece. Marrying their signature Australian design prowess with premium materials, the H16 is fortified to endure. Cub’s discernment extended to the selection of pop top material, where rugged PVC replaces traditional canvas, affording heightened durability, easier maintenance, and superior tear resistance.
The H16’s reduced stature contributes to a streamlined towing experience, and in today’s economic landscape, Cub acknowledges the demand for a cost-effective alternative to conventional caravans. Boasting an array of premium features, Cub’s focus on maximizing value within a lightweight framework remains unwavering, staying true to the comforts synonymous with its hybrid caravan line.
Lead Interior Designer Amy Fagan meticulously curated the interior, conjuring an aura of opulence that exemplifies Cub’s ascendancy. When rest beckons, the H16 provides slumber on a standard Cub king pillow top mattress, while the integrated 110L Dometic Coolmatic fridge ensures a ready supply of food.

Embracing al fresco culinary pursuits, the H16’s hybrid configuration seamlessly integrates a premium outdoor kitchen, akin to its Cub counterparts, with a sprawling Fiamma awning that extends the outdoor living. Boasting a SMEV 3-burner stainless steel stove, sink, and the iconic textured stainless steel work surfaces, this kitchen is both suave and robust.
Entertainment finds its place with the Fusion Bluetooth stereo system and off-grid adventures are sustained by a 150Ah lithium battery with a five-year warranty, coupled with dual 180W Redarc Monocrystalline solar panels.
With three distinct layout options – Cub King bed, double bunk, and twin bed – the H16 empowers patrons to tailor their experience. Embracing a strategy reminiscent of Tesla’s Model 3 launch, Cub has orchestrated an industry-first pre-order campaign. Enthusiasts can swiftly secure a H16 production slot with a risk-free, fully refundable $2000 deposit, with initial deliveries anticipated prior to Christmas.
