Farm-fresh produce, handmade sweet treats and treasured gourmet ingredients; this Foodie Trail has it all!
In the third episode of RV Daily’s Foodie Trails, Emma, Chef Macca and Tim kick things off in Robertson, known as the ‘green heart’ of the NSW Southern Highlands. Here, Emma meets a local chef at a café that grows, bakes and cures its own menu items, while Chef Macca finds out what ‘paddock to plate’ means at an organic beef farm.
Then it’s on to the historic town of Yass, where we find a beautiful free camp on the banks of the river. Tim hunts down the best coffee in town at a place that sources and roasts its own beans, while Emma is off to meet a woman who makes the most delicious handcrafted chocolates. Meanwhile, Chef Macca gets the 101 on perfecting steak from a talented chef at one of the region’s best restaurants.
The third and final stop is Braidwood, a charming village known for growing some seriously gourmet ingredients. Chef Macca sniffs out one of the world’s most expensive foods with the help of a few sausage dogs, while Emma discovers a completely new, gourmet take on one of the most common ingredients in any kitchen.
And finally, it’s time to celebrate everything they’ve discovered on this seriously scrumptious Foodie Trail by throwing a happy hour party at a unique and beautiful campsite overlooking the valley.
