Charge up your adventures with ProBoost

The new range of DC-DC chargers from BMPRO ensure your 12V DC accessories are always ready
It’s easy to take electricity for granted. Flick a switch in your home and you instantly have lights. But, it’s a completely different story when you’re camping or on the road. And the last thing you want when you’re out on an adventure is to be caught short on power.
Luckily, leading RV power management leader BMPRO has just announced the release of their new ProBoost DC-DC chargers. Designed to help give your adventure travel a boost!
Your SUV, Ute or whatever type of vehicle you drive has an alternator. Your Ute, caravan or camper uses that alternator to power your vehicle’s electrical system and charge the starter (or “house”) battery while you drive. A DC-DC charger uses that alternator and house battery to charge an “off-grid” or secondary battery to power things such as your camper’s lights, fridge and other 12V DC accessories. They allow drivers to use their devices even while parked, without interference to the vehicle’s main battery.
The ProBoost range of DC-DC chargers have been designed as part of BMPRO’s ongoing commitment to make adventure travel “smarter and more comfortable.”
The rugged chargers were designed to stand up to extreme conditions, heat dust and mud, thanks to strenuous testing by BMPRO’s Australia-based R&D team.
“The result is a product finely engineered and tested to ensure your battery is charged up and your 12V DC accessories are ready to go on arrival – whether that be your camping fridge keeping your drinks cold or your 12V lighting ready for the first night at camp,” said Brad Hooper, BMPRO Marketing Manager.
The ProBoost chargers are compatible with all common vehicle batteries, including lithium LiFePO4 and lead acid.
If you are more of a solar-inclined person, the ProBoost blends the solar and auxiliary inputs of your vehicle simultaneously, ensuring a consistent charge to your off-grid battery all the time. The DC-DC chargers also feature a built-in MPPT solar regulator to maximise solar input.
The chargers have also been designed to be used with both standard and smart vehicle alternators.
You’ll also find the ProBoost chargers come equipped with a range of safety features to protect your vehicle’s electrical system. The battery’s charging capacity is safeguarded from things like overvoltage, undervoltage and temperature thanks to the use of these protective features.
It’s also pretty versatile, and can be installed in the engine bay, vehicle canopy or cabin. It’s also fully sealed, potted – and rugged enough to tackle any Australian extreme.
