Gone are the days when off-road caravans and comfortable didn’t belong in the same sentence. We’ve rounded up five awesome off-road caravans with an ensuite.

Let’s be honest, no matter how off-road tough you are, nobody enjoys a drop box toilet. There are also many trips where you won’t even have the luxury of that and instead will need to go bush to do your business.

Thankfully, there are many off-road caravans that feature an ensuite and we’ve rounded up five comfortable ones for you. Check them out here:

1. AOR Quantum FH

AOR Quantum FH

The words ‘luxury’ and ‘offroad’ don’t often find themselves side by side in people’s vocabulary. However, with the AOR Quantum FH, you’ll find all the at-home comforts right inside your little abode. You can sleep in style in a full-size queen bed with the option of twin beds. There’s also a vertical bedhead shelf above, magazine storage and charging points. Just like your bedroom at home. If you have more to pack away, take advantage of the under-bed storage ability.

In a caravan park, you’ll come to appreciate your personal privacy. Thanks to the large tinted windows and integrated fly privacy screens, you can relax and make yourself at home in the comfort of your own space.

Of course, this off-road caravan also features an ensuite. There’s a marine macerator toilet system with 140L capacity. After a big day outdoors, you’ll come to worship your internal hot shower that features easy clean fibreglass. Get home, shower and relax all within the comfort of your AOR Quantum FH. How lush!

2. Kedron CP5 Compact

An extendable island queen bed, a large cafe dinette and a full ensuite in a single axle. It sounds too good to be true. If this is what your camping dreams are made of, you’ve got to check out the Kedron CP5 Compact.

Don’t worry about roughing it in this one. Even the glampers will love this off-road caravan with its full ensuite boasting plenty of space. There’s a mini washing machine conveniently mounted up on the wall above the toilet. It even features a diesel heater outlet to keep the ensuite warm during the colder months that you’re on the road.

Keeping with the compact but spacious theme of this off-road caravan, the ensuite has a recess toilet holder and towel rails. The shower features a slip and crack resistant alloy powder coated base as well as a ventilation fan and LED lighting.

3. Crusader XCountry Trailbraker

Small yet spacious, the XCountry Trailbraker allows you to keep your creature comforts while you’re still exploring our great country. A good night’s rest is the key to a fun-filled day of adventuring, which is why so many people can’t go past an off-road caravan that allows the luxury of a lush ensuite.

In the XCountry Trailbraker, you’ll find a queen-width bed with a pillowtop mattress for that extra level of comfort. There’s even an upholstered bedhead up to the front window making it feel really home-like. For storage, there’s a wardrobe with a bottom drawer and side storage nooks.

The bedroom is a selling point, but we all know the advantage of privacy when you get your very own bathroom! This off-road caravan’s ensuite even has a separate shower and toilet. The ceramic vanity is raised and the shower cubicle is one-piece fibreglass. The toilet is a ceramic swivel toilet and to wash your hands you’ll find mixer taps in the basin.

4. JB Gator

I personally can’t say there’d be a time I’d be excited about coming across a gator when I’m out on an adventure. Thankfully being in Australia, we typically only see gators on the screen on American outdoor adventure shows and movies. However, I would love to not only stumble upon but travel in the JB Gator.

As the name suggests, the JB Gator features a tough skin. The reason it’s made itself into our list is due to its soft and luxurious interior that’s perfect for unwinding time.

On one end of this off-road caravan, you’ll find the ensuite area containing a shower, toilet, wall-held washing machine, storage cabinets and drawers, basin and mirror. The ceramic bowl toilet, ceramic basin and instant gas hot water system make it feel like you’re right at home in the comfort of your own bathroom.

5. Lotus Freelander

Lotus Freelander

The Lotus Freelander looks just as sleek on the inside as it does on the outside. The theme of space grey and black continue throughout creating a futuristic look that screams luxury. What kind of home pleasures will you have on the road, you ask? Think endless hot water, reverse cycle air conditioning and heat, a gourmet kitchen and a premium Fusion entertainment system. Talk about living lush on the road!

In the privacy of your own bathroom, you’ll find a one-piece fibreglass shower cubicle, complimented by a ceramic ensuite basin. There’s also a ceramic bowl toilet that absolutely beats the drop box that’s sitting 50 metres away. Luxury certainly has no limits with this one.

Camping is different for everybody, which is why there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to the great outdoors. Sure some people love to rough it, not shower and sleep directly under the stars. Others enjoy bringing their home comforts along for the ride. Thankfully, there are so many products available on the market that allow camping to be accessible to all!

  1. Five unafordable vans is more like it and all with the same product problems as a good old bang for your bucks Jayco 16 foot single axle that will go anywhere just as well as these money pits. the one i have is an outback and has done all the usual back roads and still looks like new, but then i do drive to the conditions and from what ive seen, very few of these vans ever leave the black top and stay in parks. also mine is a pop top so i dont have to worry to much about wind drag or low trees.
