Stock up for your adventure at the Newcastle Caravan Camping Lifestyle Expo

The Newcastle Caravan Camping Lifestyle Expo is running from Friday the 3rd of February to Sunday the 5th of February
One incredible benefit of attending expo’s is the ability to check out the latest in caravans, motorhomes, campervans, camper trailers, accessories and holiday parks all in the one location. You can speak to the experts on the spot, compare models and prices and even have a walkthrough of the display models.
With an overwhelming amount of choices, it might be daunting to work out where you should even start. We’ve compiled a list of some of the outdoor adventure gear you’ve got to check out at the Newcastle Caravan Camping Lifestyle Expo. Not only will this gear bring a little luxury to your trip, but you’ll look great at the same time. All the gear and all the idea, ey?
If you’re looking to travel Australia in a camper trailer but don’t know which brand or model you’d even be interested in, this expo is absolutely for you. With a huge selection of brands in attendance, such as Cub Campers, Jayco Newcastle and OPUS Camper & Hybrids, you’ll be spoilt for choice! Take your travel partner along with you to have a look and take some pictures of the models on display. You’ll have the chance to chat to the experts and ask any burning questions that have been bridging a gap between you and your next camper trailer purchase. All camper trailers will be located outside. So I suggest you take a look at the map so you can make sure you know where each brand is situated.
If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, I’d bet a few of my own dollars that you’d tell me that you value your freedom above all. This freedom comes with the valuable choice to choose where you go and how you spend your time off-road. But perhaps most importantly, freedom is being able to choose how long you want to travel for.
If you’re retired and travelling our great country or you’re taking an extended amount away with the family in tow, there’s one thing that’s an absolute essential. Power. You’ll need to power your devices that you need to keep running while you’re on your trip. Plus it’ll become increasingly important when the nightly entertainment devices die and the kids are screaming bloody murder!
One way to harness the ability of nature to provide power on your trip is via solar. At the Newcastle Caravan Camping Lifestyle Expo, in the exhibition centre, you’ll find 12 Volt Direct & Perception Lighting and Hardkorr. These two brands offer solar equipment, to allow you to power your devices via mother nature. Make sure you check them out and chat with the experts to find out how solar could benefit your next adventure.
Living in Australia comes with the awareness that sun protection is needed. Most of us have had “slip slop slap”, the core message of Cancer Council’s SunSmart program, constantly drilled into our minds. And for good reason! The Aussie sun is no joke and if you go up against it without protection, you and your lobster-coloured sunburn will be paying for it. A wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen and sunglasses are a great way to protect yourself when out in the elements. However, another favourite of mine that I find very effective is having an awning. Awnings can be set up next to your 4×4 or off the side of your caravan. They create a shaded area, perfect for putting your feet up and relaxing. If your furry friend has come along for the ride, they’ll also benefit from sitting underneath the awning with the family.
At the Newcastle Caravan Camping Lifestyle Expo, Xtend Outdoors, Malandy Outdoor Adventure and Holiday Annexes are just a few brands that will be in attendance offering awnings. You can easily compare products on the spot and learn about the differences and benefits of each awning. Australians have one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, so think of an awning as an investment to help protect yourself against UV rays for adventures to come.
