From caravan shopping to casting a line: Plan your next escape at the Perth 4WD Show

A caravan, the fishing rods and a few days beside the water. If that sounds like your kind of holiday, here’s how to turn a visit to the Perth 4WD & Adventure Show into planning time for your next escape.
Some holidays start with a destination. Others start with someone saying, “We should take the van away and go fishing.”
Then come the questions. Is the camping setup ready? Where are we putting all the gear? And can we manage something for dinner beyond sausages if the fish refuse to cooperate?
The Perth 4WD & Adventure Show brings several parts of that holiday planning together, with caravans and campers, fishing personalities, camping equipment and outdoor cooking inspiration. It runs from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 November 2026 at McCallum Park, with gates open from 9am to 5pm daily.
Here’s where we’d focus a day with the next camping and fishing trip in mind.

Before you get distracted by an enormous ensuite or a particularly comfortable lounge, think about how you actually spend your time away. If most trips involve fishing, sandy shoes and cooking outside, those habits deserve as much attention as the interior finishes. Do you even need an inside kitchen?
The show’s RV exhibitor directory includes Jayco Caravanland, Crusader Caravans, Explorex Caravans, Snowy River Perth and Wonderland RV. Bluewater Campers / Ultimate Campers, Austrack Campers and Stoney Creek Campers are also listed, giving you plenty of options beyond the classic caravan.
Use the opportunity to ask practical questions. Where could you safely carry your rods? Is there storage for tackle and other bulky gear? Can you reach the fridge without unpacking half the campsite? Ask about payload, too, including how much remains once options and accessories are fitted. Water, food, batteries and fishing equipment all need to fit within your weight limits.
A setup that suits your holidays will earn its keep long after the excitement of buying it has worn off.
Once you’ve considered where you’ll sleep, turn your attention to how you’ll spend the day.
The SaltWorx Fishing and Boating Zone has a Fishing Stage hosted by Mark LeCras. Advertised guests include Birchy the Barra King, Owen Douglas and Scotty Coghlan, sharing fishing stories, tips and adventures. It’s a good excuse to pause the caravan shopping and gather some inspiration for the part of the holiday that happens beyond the awning.
The exhibitor directory also lists 2 Oceans Tackle, Birchy’s Fishing Tours and Nonstopfillets / Insaltfishing among its fishing exhibitors. Check the directory before heading in and shortlist the businesses you’d like to visit.
The Fishing Stage timetable was still to be published at the time of writing, so check the show website closer to your visit for session times.

You might already have a caravan you’re happy with. Sometimes it’s the smaller frustrations that need attention, such as nowhere convenient to store loose gear, insufficient shade or a power setup that struggles with your usual appliances. Make a list before you leave home. It will help you ask useful questions once you’re surrounded by equipment that suddenly seems essential.
Listed exhibitors include Dometic, Darche Outdoor Gear, Bluetti Shop Perth and Offroad Living / AllSpark. Campers Choice also advertises its canvas camping storage products at site 144.
Bring measurements, photos of your current setup and, if you’re investigating power options, details of what you want to run. That gives exhibitors something concrete to work with. Think about where any new purchase will travel, too. Something that makes camp more comfortable still needs a secure home on the road.
Fresh fish for dinner sounds excellent. Having another meal in the fridge is probably wise.
For inspiration, visit the Camp Cooking Demo Area, where the advertised line-up includes Harry Fisher from Fire to Fork and camp oven cook Jo Clews. Both bring an enthusiasm for eating well outdoors, with Jo drawing on years of cooking in regional and remote WA.
Whether you cook in the caravan, beside it or over a fire where permitted, allow time to pick up a few ideas. A new meal to try is a useful souvenir from a day at the show. And if you do catch dinner on the next trip, even better.

You don’t need to come home with a new caravan to make the visit worthwhile. You could leave with a clearer shortlist, a storage problem solved or fresh motivation to finally book that fishing break.
The Perth 4WD & Adventure Show runs from 6-8 November 2026, 9am-5pm daily, at McCallum Park. Plan your arrival before leaving home as the organisers have advised that the adjacent reserves won’t be available for parking this year, with free parking and shuttle options listed on the show website.
