National 4X4 Outdoors Show set to roar into Melbourne

Buckle up, Melbourne and get ready to tackle the biggest off-road event of the year. The National 4X4 Outdoors Show is hitting the tracks at the Melbourne Showgrounds this August for three epic days of mud-slinging, tyre-kicking, outdoor-loving action.
Get set for demonstrations, prizes, entertainment, truckloads of 4X4 envy, and the chance to rub shoulders with 4WD royalty. This year’s event, from 22–24 August, brings together more than 200 leading 4X4, camping, caravans and off-road campers, and outdoor adventure brands. It’s the ultimate one-stop shop for everything off-road and off-grid.
New to the lineup this year is a refreshed Show ‘N’ Shine competition with two new
categories – Vintage Classics and Next-Gen Beasts. They’ll be joining the usual suspects – Terrific Tourer and Rough N Tumble. Enter your pride and joy for your shot at a $12,000 prize pool, or simply ogle the cars on display.
Also debuting in 2025 is Randy’s Junkyard Action Show – a hair-raising spectacle of BMX and motorbike stunts meets Parkour that will have crowds whooping and wincing in awe. MadMatt returns to Mount Maxxis to test his 4X4 chops on a giant mound of gnarly dirt. Returning for its second year, MadMatt will be dragging an Austrack camper trailer along for the ride to demonstrate the technical off-road towing skills. Also taking to Mount Maxxis for the first time is a Winch Show. Lucas Bree and the team from Carbon Offroad will be scaling the infamous ‘Gunshot’ to demonstrate expert recovery techniques in the toughest terrain.
If that doesn’t get your motor running, the prize pack certainly will. Up for grabs this year is a $10K adventure pack loaded with cool gear including a Kayo T2 PRO dirt bike, Ironman 4X4 awning and fridge/freezer, Carbon Offroad winch, 4X4 Explore five-day tagalong tour in the Victorian High Country, and an iTechworld power station.
The show will also feature all your rusted-on favourites, including the Outback Stage, where Australia’s finest and funniest off-road personalities will share tales from the tracks and answer your burning questions. This year’s presenters include Jocko and Graham from 4WD 24-7, Bridget from Red Dirt Diary and Jamie Hazelden, aka the Australian Bushman. Cassie from Girls Day Out 4WD Edition will join an all-female ‘Women Who Inspire Adventure’ Panel, putting the blokes to shame with their intrepid 4X4 stories. Cassie will also take to the dirt with talks to inspire women to ramp up their 4WD skills in a fun and inclusive environment.
Tracks ‘N Trips group discussions will provide opportunities to explore some of Australia’s most iconic tracks from experienced adventurers who’ve been there, done that before. Lean on their first-hand experience and gain valuable tips and tricks to steer your next big adventure. There’ll also be the chance to mingle with celebrity guests and meet some of the biggest names in 4X4.
Kids under 16 are free and there’s even a Wildlife Show to enrapture whippet road warriors.
No 4WD show would be complete without gear. And at the National 4X4 Outdoors Show there’ll be lots of it. More than 200 brands and thousands of products will be on display, showcasing the best in all things 4WD, off-road caravans and camper trailers, tents, aftermarket accessories, camping gear, tech and gadgets. Some of the big-name exhibitors include ARB, Austrack Campers, Dometic, Darche, Kincrome, Ford, Isuzu UTE, Kimberley Kampers, Renogy and more. Whether you’re looking to buy or browse, there’s something for everyone – from canopies to caravans, custom 4WDs to camping toilets. You may even find a storage solution for that toilet roll that’s been rolling around your back seat for donkeys.
Whether you’re into rock crawling, sand bashing or just cracking a coldie at the campsite, the National 4X4 Outdoors Show is your ticket to outdoor adventure. Strap in, hold on and come see what’s movin’ and a shakin’ in the world of 4WD.
