Vibrant markets and exceptional handcrafted food goodies, this trail through lush coastal hinterland has it all!
In this episode, Emma, Tim and Chef Macca head to the hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland after hearing about the region’s eclectic local food scene and wonderful dairy offerings.
First up they set-up the caravans at an RV Stopover near Eumundi, home to the famous Eumundi Markets. Chef Macca tries his hand at making a classic Malaysian dish with a market stallholder, while Emma loads up her bag with all sorts of delicious market goodies.
Next stop, Kenilworth. In this quaint country town Tim finds a donut that weighs a kilo at a fabulous local bakery, and Emma meets a man who makes exceptional condiments using native Australian ingredients. Then they all relax at one of the most beautiful campsites they’ve come across on their adventures so far.
Finally, it’s on to Maleny, a vibrant dairy town with no shortage of wonderful eateries. Emma samples some award-winning, locally-made gelato, while Tim meets a man about a buffalo to see what cheese and jazz music have in common. Then, they wrap things up with a happy hour party at the Landsborough Pines Caravan Park where Chef Macca serves up hearty bowls of his rich caravan curry.
