Austrack Gunbarrel X19 toy hauler caravan packs huge off-grid power and gear-hauling space

Austrack has introduced the Gunbarrel X19, a toy hauler designed to combine off-road touring capability with the space to carry all your fun toys.
And by toys, we mean motorbikes, quad bikes, e-bikes, mountain bikes, kayaks and all the other fun stuff you can’t fit into a regular caravan.
In the case of the Gunbarrel X19, the rear section features an electric push-button tailgate ramp for easy loading and unloading, which can also convert into a patio deck once camp is set up.
With a starting price of $89,990 and a long list of off-grid touring features, including a large solar and lithium battery setup, reverse-cycle air-conditioning and diesel heating, the Gunbarrel X19 is worth a further look.

According to Austrack, the Gunbarrel X19 has a fully welded aluminium frame construction with aluminium composite panels and checkerplate protection.
The chassis and drawbar are hot-dipped galvanised, while the suspension setup includes AusTuff independent coil springs, Pedders foam cell big bore shocks and a McHitch 3.5T full off-road coupling.
Austrack also lists 6-stud 4×4 hubs, heavy-duty electric brakes and mud-terrain tyres fitted to reinforced alloy wheels.
The caravan has a tare weight of approximately 2840kg, an ATM of 3500kg, and a ball weight of around 240kg, leaving a listed payload of roughly 660kg depending on configuration.

A key feature of the Gunbarrel X19 is the rear cargo area designed for carrying recreational equipment.
The Austrack Gunbarrel X19 includes a push-button electric tailgate ramp, allowing gear to be rolled into the rear of the caravan during loading and unloading. Once you’ve set up camp, the ramp can be used as a patio deck, effectively turning the rear space into an additional outdoor living area.
This type of design is commonly used in toy hauler caravans to allow the same space to serve as both cargo storage during travel and usable living/sleeping space at camp.

One of the standout features listed for the Gunbarrel X19 is its off-grid electrical system.
Austrack says the caravan is equipped with an Arizon Smart Power System, which includes:
The system includes a touchscreen interface with mobile app connectivity, allowing users to monitor and control power usage.
Given that the specs for this power system pack a punch, you’re unlikely to have to sacrafice any of your comforts from home. According to Austrack, the system can even handle the caravan’s reverse-cycle air-conditioner, ensuring comfort even in remote locations.

Inside, the Gunbarrel X19 is designed to sleep up to six people.
The main sleeping area features a queen bed with a 150mm inner pocket spring mattress, while the rear area has two bench seats that convert into two single beds. Additional bunks can be added in the rear section, and they simply fold up against the wall while you’re transporting your motorbikes or other recreational gear.
The interior includes:

For meal prep and cooking, the Gunbarrel X19 includes both an internal and external kitchen area.
Inside, the van is fitted with a dual-zone induction cooktop and microwave with air fryer function. Outside, you’ll find a slide-out stainless steel kitchen with a gas cooktop, sink, pantry storage and bar counter.
The van also includes two fridge options – an internal fridge and an external slide-out dual-zone fridge/freezer.

Water storage on the Gunbarrel X19 is listed as 2 × 120L fresh water tanks as well as 1 x 80L plumbed grey water tank. A 12V electric pump rated at 12.5L per minute gets the water where you need it.
The van also includes an external hot and cold shower with removable ensuite tent, providing an additional shower option when camping off-grid.
